About Us

Hi, I’m Frank J – Egypt Self-Guided Travel. I explore Egypt solo and share tips, stories, and practical advice to help you plan your own adventures safely and enjoyably.

We didn’t come to Egypt with a checklist.

We came with curiosity, a little hesitation, and a lot of questions.

Like many travelers, Egypt felt intimidating at first — intense, chaotic, and full of stories that make you cautious. But day by day, street by street, conversation by conversation, that apprehension softened. What remained was one of the most layered, surprising, and satisfying travel experiences we’ve had.

This blog is a collection of firsthand travel stories, written as they happened — not polished guides, not influencer highlights, and not rushed itineraries. We write about the moments in between: the negotiations, the misunderstandings, the unexpected kindness, the exhaustion, the humor, and the quiet reflections that come after a long day of exploring.

The Egypt stories you’ll find here were shaped by real encounters — in Cairo, Luxor, on trains, boats, sidewalks, and cafés. Some moments were frustrating, some funny, some deeply moving. All of them were real.

This blog isn’t about telling you where to go next.

This blog is about sharing what it felt like to be there, and we will provide some guide based on the real experience, not a cookie cutter.

If you enjoy travel stories that are thoughtful, candid, and human — you’re in the right place.
